New boy (Greg for now in his temporary ‘new arrival’ Greg jumper) was so embarrassed about the trail of hair he was leaving that he asked if he could have a new haircut. He has a very short cut now and while it grows ( š ) he’s chosen a dark auburn wig. I gave that a bit of a trim too because it wasn’t quite right and now he’s feeling a lot better. It’s a bit darker than Cameron’s red hair, but still definitely red and he likes that.
He and Cameron are bonding over a construction job today….

PROJECT :
Today the boys wanted to build something (I think they just wanted to use some big boy tools) and they’d seen Henry’s bookcase and wanted one like that. I don’t think there is another one just like Henry’s so they got the next best thing.
They asked for a little Ikea Ivar bookcase for their bedroom and promised to put it all together themselves. When it arrived they raced for their toolbox and both thought they knew exactly what they would need..
…but when they opened the box they found the nice people at Ikea had included the perfect screwdriver for the job and some tiny little screws too.
They took turns following the funny little picture drawing instructions and screwing the little screws that hold the cross-bar supports on the back and had fun trying to read all the different languages. There are people all over the world with a bookcase like ours, they marvelled š
Once the supporting cross-bar was on they stood the frame up and began to slot the shelves onto the tiny little supporting bars and in no time at all they had a bookcase !
Little Ted pulled up his Ikea Poang chair and claimed he’d been there all along, encouraging and directing proceedings and that if it wasn’t for his input it might not have gone so well.
The boys smiled and winked at each other. They knew they’d done a great job all by themselves and all that was left to do now was clean up a bit.
Cameron got the Henry out and swept up the mess and then they posedĀ for a triumphant photo in front of their creation.
They are feeling very pleased with themselves now and making a list of things they absolutely must have on display on their new shelves, but that will have to wait until tomorrow…..
A really nice post. I enjoyed watching the bookcase assembly. Both boys are very handy. I like Greg’s wig and he does look so handsome with red hair. š xxx
