In the last few months a few of the later, pale vinyl Gotz kids have come to live with us. Usually the first thing I do when a new kid arrives is change them out of their clothes and store them away, partly to keep them safe and partly because I don’t usually like the original clothes they come in. But these later Gotz dolls have really well-made outfits and they suit them very nicely so today I asked the kids to huddle together for a family portrait in their best clothes and provide me with the makings of a weekend jigsaw. They were quick to remind me that the family’s not complete without big sis Anika and little baby Matti, oh, and a few toddlers as well, but the search is still on for them 🙂

They are, from left to right, back row first, Yvette, Stella, Carmen, Wibke, (front row) Meike, Simon, Lars and Stine ❤
We’ve kept our clothes clean all day and mostly been very good. Can we have our chocolate bunnies now please ? Click below for their jigsaw before they’ve eaten them
Hello Hannah, lovely day for a walk in the park. Can I see your new baby ?
I need to keep them safe from the little ones while I’m out of the house walking the dog.
I like the way you think. I’ll just walk along with you for a while 🙂

The kids took advantage of Mum’s trip to the allotment today to have a quick, Spring picnic while Mum pulled some leeks.
First they chose the spot, then worked together to spread out the blanket.
The bears just couldn’t wait to see what was in the picnic basket and jumped up and down for Hannah and Greg to PLEASE open it up !!!
They’d brought drinks, snacks, fruit and cake and biscuits and shared everything with the bears…because this was also a Teddy Bears’ Picnic 🙂
……then sunbathed in the gentle March sunshine. Nice work if you can get it 🙂

The header photo is wishful thinking. It’s not spring or summer here. There are no flowers or even many leaves about. What it’s really like is more like this. Not quite as much snow though. We’re having ‘wintery showers’ which is a nice way of saying constant frozen drizzle. So I’ve had time to knit and luckily I’ve finished this one while the weather is still chilly 🙂
It’s knitted in Shetland 3/4 ply, in the round, up until the neck placket. The sleeves and toque hat are knitted in the round too so there are no seams.
It’s finished with braid and clasps to make a nice, generous neck opening and the toque has a little tassle.
Surprising who you meet in the forest isn’t it – and tame too 🙂

Yes, she is another new girl but she really is the last for a while. I need to save up now for Nottingham 🙂 She is a lovely 1968 girl who has been completely re-rooted by Alison Parnell and given luscious locks and a sweet, slightly curled fringe/bangs. She’s trying on a hand-me-down Vintage Sasha dress and navy shoes by Marti and making sure she’s ready to meet the rest of the girls. Her ‘new arrival’ toy is a sweetheart nose bear, perfectly timed for Valentine’s Weekend.
❤ We’d both like to wish you all a very good weekend ! ❤
